A well known fact: It is an incomparable feeling to wear comfortable shoes. Comfortable shoes allow us to enjoy the day’s activities pain-free. Wearing shoes that fit properly can also prevent potential health problems from happening. When to Buy Most shoes can last an average of three to twelve months from normal wear and tear. As you begin to wear out a shoe, you will start to notice a difference in its fit and comfort. Worn out shoes can cause back pains, sore knee joints, or aching feet. The time to replace your shoes is when the cushion has been worn down or the motion control has been lost. Which Shoes to Buy in Fashion Stores Online? Everyone’s foot is different. The best shoe for you is the one that gives you the proper fit, support, cushioning, and flexibility. Choose a shoe with well-cushioned stability that compensates for any irregularities in your foot or your stride. Once you have found that perfect shoe for you, you can now hit the fashion stores online to purchase them. Some Common Foot Irregularities 1. High Arched Feet High arched feet do not roll inward very much. There is a highly curved arch along the inside of the foot. Also, the toes appear to be in a clawed position. Highly arched feet are very rigid, and they are unable to absorb ample shock when making contact with the ground. The reason for this is that the foot doesn’t have the ability to roll inward when the foot makes contact with the ground. This lack of pronation can cause heel, knee, shin, and back problems. Inserting special pads in the shoes, which tries to compensate for this condition, treats high arched feet. The pads allow the feet to absorb shock more easily. People with high arched feet should try to stay away from stability or motion control shoes, which reduce foot mobility. 2. Flat Feet The term flat feet refers to people who have a low arch on their feet or no arch at all. Sometimes they are said to have "fallen arches." Most people have space on the inner side of their feet when the sole of the foot comes in contact with the ground. This is called the arch. The height of the arch varies in size from one person to another. Flat feet are generally a hereditary condition. The best shoe for this condition would be a motion control or stability shoe with a firm midsole. 3. Over or Under Pronation Over pronation is the excessive inward rolling motion of the foot. This inward motion is considered unhealthy because it can cause a great deal of strain on the back, ankles, knees, and the lower legs. Over pronation can lead to shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and IT band syndrome. Under pronation happens when the outside of the foot takes most of the shock when coming in contact with the ground. This condition can cause problems with the ligaments in your feet and ankles. Stability shoes feature either a dual density midsole or a roll bar to help combat pronation problems. Some Helpful Shoe Buying Tips: Shop late in the day. Feet tend to swell as the day progresses. Shoes purchased in the morning will feel a bit tight by afternoon. Shop for shoes with your health and comfort as a priority. Your feet size change every year, so always measure your foot first before heading out to buy a pair. This should give you a general idea when considering different styles of shoes. Choose shoes that are shaped like your foot. Check to see how the sole feels on the bottom of your foot. It should have a soft and supportive cushion. People with high arches generally need more support. Stand up and walk around to get a feel for the shoe. Your feet shouldn't be sliding or moving around inside and there should be ample room beyond the big toe that should be no more than 1/2 inch. One last tip: There is no need to "break in" a tight shoe. This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
Imagine walking into a crowded restaurant and having all eyes on you. Like most women, I love getting attention. But recently, I got more attention and compliments than I thought I could handle. During a casual dinner with close friends, my sparkling white gold, two-carat Moissanite earrings was the center of everyone’s attention. One of my friends at the table whispered, "Those are the most beautiful diamond earrings I've ever seen." I gave her a heads up that they weren't diamonds, but a new kind of jewel: Moissanite. Before I knew it, I was the talk of the table. People had questions and comments like "What is Moissanite?" “They're so brilliant they must have cost a fortune!" "Are they rare?" and "I have to own a pair!" Well ladies, if you want to know my secret, read on. Moissanite has opened doors to women, giving them the opportunity to own quality, eye-catching jewelry at affordable prices. Some stores in the internet are also offering discount shopping online for jewelries such as Moissanite. What is the story behind this fantastic jewel? In 1893, a Nobel Prize-winning scientist by the name of Dr. Henri Moissan began studying fragments of a 50,000 year old meteorite. In these fragments, Moissan believed he discovered diamonds from outer space possessing superior fire and brilliance. After extensive research, it was concluded that Moissan discovered a new mineral. In 1905, it was named Moissanite in his honor. During the late 1980s, inspired by Moissan's discovery and by the fact that natural Moissanite is incredibly rare, a trading company called Charles & Colvard, Ltd. developed a proprietary process for producing large quantities of Moissanite. By 1995, Charles & Colvard, Ltd. was monopolizing the Moissanite mineral industry, possessing two worldwide patents. "Moissanite's superior diamond-like appearance is incredible," said Nat Hyman, president of Landau, an accessory boutique with more than 70 stores. "The customer is getting so much more for their money,” he finished. “But once they leave the store, are they going to tell even their best friends?" asked Nick Baxevane, also of Landau. "Moissanite looks like what a beautiful diamond should look like, so what they tell their friends is their decision. They can have the million dollar look without the million dollar price tag." Over the centuries, time pieces have been used as a status symbol by those who are privileged to wear them. Their precision, elegance and convenience are just some of the characteristics that these time pieces represent. Often, they are purchased in fashion stores online purely for their aesthetic looks. And at other times, they are bought because of their technical attributes like being precise even to the millisecond. This is what makes clocks and watches so demandingly collectible. And in some cases, they can demand high sums of money. Whether you collect those new high precision watches or those from a past era, the fact is, over the years, this hobby has become a high turnover business. And in a lot of circles, collecting watches is regarded as a smart form of investment. At the start of the last century, the first time pieces that were available for men and women were pocket clocks, and then what came next were those held by a pendant attached to the lining of jackets or corsets. The occurrence of war, industrialization, and the development of sport activities brought about new trends which extended not only to the way we dressed, but also how we accessorized using our time pieces. It is known that a nanny was the one responsible in inventing the wrist watch at around the end of the 19th century, who fixed a clock around her wrist by using a silk band. The first watches to be made were in fact smaller models of pocket clocks that were fitted with a leather strap. Once this product hit the market, newer designs began to appear based around this same concept. It was Louis Cartier who first made the kind of watches we see at fashion stores online today when he created a watch for a flying pioneer hero by the name of Santos Dumont. By 1911, this same type of watch was on general sale. That very same type of time piece became the first blueprint of what wrist watches look like to this day. Soon after, the design of "wrist clocks" began to pull away from the classic round shape that had been en vogue up until that time. From the Cartier classic wrist watch, other designs started to emerge that were characterized by their shape. Movado is the perfect example of these new designs when it came out with the “Polyplan” shaped watch. Then came the famously and cryptically called "clock reference n. 1593" by Patek Philippe which was a rectangular shaped watch. From 1913 onwards, more and more watches started to be developed in all shapes, sizes and styles. From the "gondola" watch of Patek Phillipe to Louis Cartier’s "Tank"; named thus because it was inspired by the shape of English armored cars of that time. These are watches which were very much sought-after. There were other numerous watch makers like Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin who, along with Patek Philippe and Cartier, came out with many other designs which added other features to their time pieces like lunar phases, and a month and day indicator most of which are found in modern watches now. Of course, we would never discuss time pieces without mentioning the most famous of them all: the Rolex. In the 1920s, Rolex debuted in the world of wrist watches through the release of its elegant Rolex Prince and its revolutionary "dual time" feature made famous for having the "seconds sector" larger than that of the minutes’. At the same time, Jaeger Le Coultre created an even more advanced piece called the "Reverse," a very innovative piece that it could be turn 180 degrees within its case, thus protecting the crystal and its dial. It became incredibly popular and was only prevented from achieving even greater success by the recession of the 1930s and the occurrence of World War II. These early watches of the 1910s to 1930s defined all the kinds of watches that we all see and wear today. This short article has only scratched the surface of a very wide subject that includes many more watch manufacturers with diverse and revolutionary designs. However, makers like Rolex, Cartier, Jaeger Le Coultre are amongst the most valuable and collectible, and should you ever have the opportunity to own one or their time pieces then make sure you hang on to it—preferably attached to your wrist. An old and reclusive art, glove making has been associated with human culture since the time of the caveman. The first gloves resembled crude mittens. As centuries passed, glove making became more of a refined art. Pronounced fingers were stitched in to provide more dexterity and ease of movement. When glove makers' guilds once dominated a society obsessed with a covered hand, today, very few remain. Fewer still are the patterns available for hand-made gloves. Machine-sewn and hand-finished gloves are mostly what you'll now find in fashion shops online. Gloves are seen in ancient writings, such as Homer's “The Odyssey,” in which Laertes is said to wear gloves in his garden so he could avoid the brambles. There is some debate over the translation of this text. In “The History of Herodotus,” written in 440 BC, Herodotus describes how Leotychides was given a bribe in the form of a gauntlet overflowing with silver, which later incriminated him. As time passed, the complexity and versatility of gloves evolved. Plated gauntlets were dated back as far as the early 14th century. And before that, mail gloves were worn. Some knights were even noted to wear mail gloves under their plated gauntlets for added protection. Now, if we look into the fashion world, we see a marvelous array of styles. Cloth and leather gauntlets display intricate embroideries. Ladies in the 19th century adored opera gloves. One peculiarity is they tried to fit their hands into gloves a size too small. This forced one's hand to rest in a half cupped position, which is perfect for greeting, but not for kissing. If you have ever experienced wearing a glove that your hands are too big for, imagine what these women had to go through! Buttonhook and powdered alum provided some lubrication. But still, before an opera, determined women would sit for hours, coaxing their hands down into tight little gloves. A few books remain that provide us with real insights of early gloves. One of the more revered in existence today is “Le Gant.” The book, while entirely in French, reveals many patterns and reveals a short development and history of the glove. Also included are passages stating the period's social relevance and sexual significance in relation to the glove. Insulation from the heat or cold, protection from scratches and cuts, in the instigation of duels, for bold or minute fashion statements, gloves have worn many hats, so to speak, throughout history. They continue to be an essentially integral part of many jobs today. Conversely, there has also been a sharp decline in its use as fashion accessories over the past decades. A declining number of girls attend their proms with gloves. Fashion shops online is a fickle thing, and only time will tell the future of the glove. Clothing that are branded are highly recognizable by customers simply because brands spend millions of dollars to market their name while non-branded clothes or smaller labels or imported overseas barely have recognition. The great thing about small labels or non-branded clothes is that they can be purchased and resold a lot less than branded clothing. Non-branded items are also available if you want to go shopping online for clothes that aren’t expensive but have no label. So how does one choose between selling non-branded clothes over branded clothes? For rookies, knowing your customers would definitely help. If your customers have low incomes, they would probably love having branded clothes but sadly they can’t afford it so they would settle for non-branded ones. On the other hand, if your customers are well off then they would definitely buy branded clothes alone because of the pressure they are pressed with in terms of keeping up with the latest styles. However, the above may only be true in the theoretical world since in the real world, everyone wants branded clothing. So the trick here is knowing how, as a seller, can you buy brand name clothing in order to be sold to customers who are poor with prices that won’t hurt their pockets? The solution to that would be by purchasing overstock clothing. What are overstock clothing? Well, they are the clothes that a department store did not sell within a set period of time. A department store wants to always have new merchandise on its racks. Whatever does not sell within a set period of time will be sold out as overstock. You have great opportunities since overstock clothing consists of brand names and you can get a hold of clothes at a fraction of the regular wholesale price and better yet, they are from a leading brand name too. The thing here is when you purchase clothes on online auctions, you will receive of a wide assortment of styles and sizes and you can’t specify the number of pants or skirts or sizes for that matter. Though this fact doesn’t really stop the others from shopping online for clothes that are branded, especially if they can get their hands on Tommy, Liz Claiborne, Baby Phat, Ralph Lauren at very low prices. However, it will always be your choice if you want to resell branded clothes or non-branded ones, remember that there are great deals in online auctions and overstock clothes. It's that time of the year again when snowflakes are falling, yuletide cheers are being heard, Christmas shopping is done, hot cups of coco are made, and a cozy warm fireplace is light up with sizzling embers of coal crackling away. But what's heating up the fashion scene this winter? What are the latest winter fashion trends to look out for when shopping online for clothes? A closer look reveals some interesting insights on the latest winter fashions. 1. This season’s winter colors Staying true to the season, shades of soft white seem to be a good choice for clothes that blend in with the winter theme. Another popular color to help produce a sharp contrast is black and various shades of black, while dull and muted grays give a nice warm and fuzzy touch, and hues of rich red right through to mellow maroon are reflective of the season. For women, earthy colors ranging from deep shades of olive, maroon, brown, deep blues to chocolate brown are set to form the trend that you should look out for when shopping online for clothes. While for men, muted shades of pink, lavender, brick red, grey, deep shades of purple and black are the colors that will be setting the stage for winter fashion. 2. Hair Choosing the right hairstyle to go with the season’s fashion trend can be quite a daunting task. You don't want to be seen in last year's hairstyles, and certainly not something that is not the hottest do at the moment. So if you're trying to figure out the hairdo that's the pick of the season by stylists and fashion models, it's time to let you in on a little secret. Apparently, for women, wearing your hair in the all-so-classic bobcut seems to be the more favored trend this season. Men, on the other hand, who tend to make the cut, will have to aim to get their hair into the bushy straight, yet carefully disheveled look that gets tucked away into the tops of their mufflers. 3. Hats If you like hats, you're in luck. This season, hoods, hats and caps are the rage. Large knitted beanies or those furry oversized Moroccan hats are all in this winter. The en vogue styles include hats that are either huge and puffy, or tiny and pointed. Fur-lined hoods incorporated into the garments are also turning heads this winter. 4. Coats This season, coats come with a nice thick mantle-like look that features tousled sleeves and funneled collars. Other patterns included coats with widely placed collars and a rich furry texture. 5. Fabrics The prevailing trend in fabrics this season is fabrics are over-worked with several different design effects across their surfaces. The fabrics are very solid or concrete with a sort of untamed natural feel blended with soft lusters. Prints around the winter theme are almost subtle with a focus on the rich exterior of the fabric. Lightweight wool or reworked cotton fabrics are the base for designs that will debut this winter. 6. Effects In complimenting the feel and textures of the fabrics, the designs around these effects that are set to make the stage this winter, range from long pleats, subtle wrinkles and clearly visible overstitches, to the blistered and tangled effects. Cashmere is worked in with regular wool and mohair is blended to give the fabrics a light, yet visibly textured look, while some of the other fabrics are roughly cut to give a thatched, heavily threaded effect. Most knits are made with heavily emphasized gages to draw out the raw protective feel against the winter chill. Denim is one of those fabrics that will probably be around forever. This winter, the theme is a slight gleam on the denim with an oxidized look. In fact, this season’s going to have you see a lot of ultra cool effects. 7. Scarves Trade in your old winter muffler for those large woolen scarves that can be draped over your shoulders like a stole. Embodied with various prints on dulled wool, the scarf lends a casual yet protective loop to the wearer, be it a man or a woman. 8. Footwear Ankle-high shoes in shades of silver and grey are this winter’s winner. They scream elegance and comfort in a very casual sort of way. Transparent slippers laced with silver give an almost Cinderella effect for women. 9. Jewelry Designs that highlight the winter season are gorgeous accessories like silver snowflake pendants and large broaches like a sprig of holly or mistletoe. They make some really eye-catching accessories. Chunky silver bracelets and large, but light dangling earrings add to the effect. With the huge number of fragrances in the market, it can sometimes be tricky to choose the one that is perfect for your taste, personality, occasion, body chemistry and other factors. Go over the following basic tips that you may find useful when discount shopping online and get to wear the perfect perfume for you. 1. Determine your budget. Perfumes are priced in a very big range, from very inexpensive colognes to luxurious designer brands. Determining your budget or the money you are prepared to spend beforehand will help narrow down your choices and will save you a lot of time. In discount shopping online for perfumes, knowing your budget makes everything easier. 2. Know what particular smell you want and go for it. When going on discount shopping online, decide on what type of fragrance you want based on how you want the fragrance to be of use to you. For instance, is it for special events? Is it to please or seduce a partner? Is it for everyday use? If you plan to enchant someone with your fragrance, make sure to know the specific scents he or she likes. If you want it to be an everyday fragrance that you can wear to work or school, you may want to buy a lighter and fresher scent. If it’s for big parties and formal events, select a perfume that makes a stronger impact by blending well with your body chemistry. Other factors, like the weather or the season, are also important to consider. For instance, if you live in a very humid setting, floral fragrances with a woody or musky base often complement the sultry weather. If you’re often surrounded by a lot of people in near proximity, don’t choose a very strong perfume because not everyone likes overpowering scents. Citrus, sea breeze and other herb and floral fragrances are often fresh and rejuvenating, perfect for someone always on the go. If you will be out on a date and would want to heighten the romance, choose a scent that is a bit stronger but not overpowering. Usually, oriental spices project confidence and sophistication. Meanwhile, aromatic blends are perfect for men who like to smell like a true man exuding machismo and confidence. 3. Examine the product carefully before buying. When you’ve finally narrowed down your choices and you’re ready to purchase your own bottle, don’t forget to carefully examine each bottle of perfume you like before getting ahead of yourself and purchasing it. Take note that your nose can only handle so much testing and consecutively sniffing on 20 bottles of perfume will prove to be overpowering and desensitizing. Before you start spraying a certain amount of perfume on your wrist, spray it first on a piece of card or a strip of paper and decide if you like it. If not, move on to the next product. Once you find a scent that you think is perfect for you, start testing it on your body. Apply a small amount on your wrist or at the back of your hand. Sometimes the salesperson will offer to apply some on his or her own skin and have you smell it. This is a big no-no because each of us has our own body chemistry that reacts differently to perfumes. Make sure the perfume is perfect for you by putting it on your own skin. Wait a few minutes for the fragrance to react to your body chemistry and then start to take a whiff if the perfume works for you. This is your new blog post.
